Bright sunshine, blue skies, and cold temperatures greeted me today for my early morning walk through the 42nd annual Plymouth Ice Festival in downtown Plymouth, Michigan.
And I had the added pleasure of seeing one of my birding friends near the sculptures.
It was fun to catch up on the latest news with each other as we looked at the beautiful ice carvings.
Only one ice carving team was working this morning, the team from Oakland Community College. One of their team members handed me an ice carving tool and invited me to help carve.
I declined, replying I’d leave the carving to the experts.
While today’s forecast is for warmer weather over 40 degrees Farenheit, which means ice sculptures will likely have some melting action, the sculptures looked wonderful this morning in Kellogg Park.
