Back for the 42nd year, Plymouth Art in the Park kicked off this weekend in downtown Plymouth, Michigan.
And as has been tradition for years, this year’s sidewalk chalk drawing captured fairgoers’ attention as they walk by Kellogg Park .
It wasn’t completely finished when I walked by, but I managed to catch a few photos of the Star Wars-themed drawing.
Three young women were working on the drawing, using their sketches for inspiration.
Impressive, isn’t it?
Though the first day of the second-largest art fair in Michigan was wet—some areas in the community had almost an inch of rain in less than five hours on Friday!—yesterday and today’s weather is perfect: sunny, blue skies, low humidity, and comfortable temperatures.
Since the fair closes at 7pm on Saturday, I made me way there late Saturday afternoon/early evening, thinking it would be less crowded.
Wrong.
People everywhere. Vehicles driving up and down the streets looking for a place to park.
I was lucky, I found a nearby parking spot on a shady street!
And managed to snag the last pulled pork sandwich from a smokehouse food truck before they announced they were out of food.
With the large crowd at the fair, I didn’t visit many booths.
I’m hoping to return back today, early in the day, before the crowds show up.
