Photo of the Week: Peonies After the Rain

With last week’s rain showers, I was concerned how peonies at the W.E. Upjohn Peony Garden in Nichols Arboretum would hold up.

And I was right.

With an early bloom this year, the heavy weight of the rain-covered flowers caused many branches to bend in arches to the ground.

View of peony garden from the southwest, showing pink, red, and white flowers on green-leaved bushes. Wooden fence, wooden bench, and deciduous trees in the background.

Thankfully the morning sun helped dry water on the bushes, which slowly returned to their upright stature.

If you plan on visiting the W.E. Upjohn Peony Garden in Ann Arbor, I recommend you plan your visit early this month. The majority of the peony bushes are blooming now.
