How amazing! I never thought I would see northern lights (aurora borealis) in southeast Michigan.
But like millions of other people around the world, thanks to this weekend’s geomagnetic storm, I enjoyed seeing the northern lights in my own southeast Michigan community.
Without having to travel to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Alaska, or Iceland.
Weather forecast for Michigan called for cloudy skies Friday night, but we had clear skies at the local soccer field where we watched (using our smartphones) the changing colors in the sky.
We couldn’t see much with the naked eye, but our smartphones caught the reds, greens, and purples across the northern sky.
Did you catch the northern lights this weekend?
