I love the smell of roses. Hybrid tea roses to be exact.
Which is why I have about a dozen hybrid tea roses of various colors in my garden.
And one of my favorites is the dark-red Mister Lincoln hybrid tea rose with its velvety petals.
The flowers open slowly to release the most wonderful scent; the blooms last for days.
This bud started opening slowly in my garden two days ago.
But with yesterday’s high heat, humidity, and multiple thunderstorms that pounded rain against our windows, I didn’t think the bloom would survive.
Imagine my delight and surprise when I went out to my garden this morning to discover the flower withstood the rain and winds from yesterday’s storms!
