When I first saw the two swans swimming in Newburg Lake at Edward Hines Park on Christmas Day, they were swimming side-by-side along the shoreline.
One swan stopped its movement and turned to swim out toward the middle of the lake, while the other kept swimming along the shore.
The view reminded me of what the end-of-year holiday season means for me: reflections and celebrations of the past year as I look forward to the joys and unexpected wonder of the coming year.
Hope you had, or are still having, a lovely, relaxing holiday break!
