It may not look like much in the photo, but the white flower bud in the lower part of the green-leaved plant is the first flower bud on a pepper plant I grew from seed.
Seed I collected from a mini sweet bell pepper I ate last fall!
I planted the seed inside in spring and moved the seedlings to a vertical bed in late spring, after danger of frost passed.
Have to say, the pepper plants have grown slowly. Glad I didn’t give up hope of them flowering!
It’s the first time I’ve planted seed from a vegetable I ate. Last fall, I dried the seeds on paper and created an envelope by folding paper.
If you look carefully in the blurred background, you’ll see another partially obscured white flower bud in the leaves.
