When I was walking along the shore of Belle Isle last weekend, I looked up to see the beautiful color of the sunset on the Detroit Princess cruising by on the Detroit River.
It was a perfect evening for a cruise, clear skies and temperatures in the low-seventies, and I could see people on the outside boat decks. I stopped to count the decks on the boat—five decks—amazing!
I waved to the people on the deck as the Princess passed by, and wished I was on the cruise.
From what I learned on their website, the Detroit Princess offers weekend afternoon and evening cruises with buffet dinners as well as midnight cruises. Departures are from downtown Detroit, along the Detroit Riverfront, south of Hart Plaza.
The cruise lasts two to two and one half hours, depending on what cruise you take. You’ll see Belle Isle, Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and the mouth of Lake St. Clair as you travel on the river.
Have you taken a cruise on the Detroit Princess?
