Photo of the Week: Chrysler Imperial Hybrid Tea Rose

I suspect this beautiful red Chrysler Imperial rose will be our last hybrid tea rose to bloom in our yard in 2025.

The Chrysler Imperial rose has a citrus scent. It’s an heirloom rose which won the American Rose Society’s James Alexander Gamble Rose Fragrance Award in 1966.

While I only have five rose bushes in my garden, all the roses are hybrid tea roses.

It’s late September and our typical first frost is mid-October. Last year we had a warm fall with a first frost in late November.

Which had my Red Dazzler cosmos blooming on November 17.

With shorter days and cooler nights over the past week, my cabbage, lettuce, and yes, peppers, seem to be thriving.

I haven’t seen any flower buds on my other rose bushes, but who knows what the fall weather may bring.
