Photo of the Week: Bald Eagle at Magee Marsh Boardwalk

“Look up! Can you see it?”

It’s a common phrase you hear when you’re birdwatching at the Magee Marsh boardwalk on the shores of Lake Erie in northwest Ohio during The Biggest Week in American Birding.

But this time, I joined everyone on the boardwalk as we turned our eyes to the skies, and not to the top of the 200-foot-tall cottonwood trees, to see the majestic flight of our country’s national bird, the Bald Eagle.

Circling over the tops of trees, the black and white bird could be easily seen as it soared through the skies over the shore of Lake Erie.

What a beautiful sight!
