Photo of the Week: Ann Arbor Art Fair

Visiting the annual Ann Arbor Art Fair is one of my favorite things to do in mid-July, and this year’s fair didn’t disappoint.

Composed of four separate fairs, Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair, State Street Area Art Fair, and Ann Arbor’s South University Art Fair, the art fair has grown over its 50+ year history through downtown Ann Arbor and much of the University of Michigan Central Campus.

Artists come from all over the nation to participate, and more than 500,000 fairgoers attend to see the artists’ creations and explore the city.

This year I really enjoyed the fiber work done by artists at the Ann Arbor Street Fair along the mall between the Michigan League and Hill Auditorium. Stopping by the Fountain Stage was a perfect place for dinner!

Walking down North University, I saw some amazing ceramic pieces and heard street performer Bob Culbertson for the first time, performing on his twelve-string Chamber Board.

Can’t wait for next year’s fair!
