Photo of the Week: 2018 Plymouth Ice Festival

Imagine the temperature is ten degrees Farenheit. Snow covers the ground and the wind chill brings the temperature to less than zero degrees on a January night.

That’s cold. Even for Michigan.

But that’s not going to stop me from checking out the annual Plymouth Ice Festival, held in Kellogg Park in downtown Plymouth, Michigan.

Since it started in 1982, the Plymouth Ice Festival has brought people in our community and beyond to downtown Plymouth to ooh and ahh at the ice sculptors as they carve stunning works of art in ice.

I don’t think I’ve missed one of the festivals since they started!

I love viewing the ice sculptures at night, when the colored lights bring out the beauty of the artist’s work.

Have to admit my camera didn’t seem to like it so much.  Or maybe it was my lens.

At one point, my shutter button wouldn’t go down. I had to take a break inside a warm building to warm my camera (and me!) back up.
