Like many Americans last night, I spent the evening watching brilliant fireworks light up the summer sky. For the first time, I visited Trenton, Michigan, one of the metro Detroit suburbs along the Detroit River, to see their firework display.
It was a beautiful night for fireworks, clear skies and little humidity.
We found a perfect spot along the river, on the grass of the senior citizens apartment complex, about five feet from the river. And for some reason, the mosquitoes stayed away.
What a great evening for the fireworks!
