Photo of the Week: 1954 Buick Roadmaster

I saw this 1954 Buick Roadmaster Riviera beauty at the classic car show at the 2014 Plymouth Fall Festival. Owned locally by a member of the Buick Club of America, I was impressed with the gorgeous color and beautiful car interior.

The 1954 Buick Roadmaster Riviera was the sixth generation of the Roadmaster series which debuted in 1936 with two engines.

Designed by Harvey Earl (who created the first concept car), the 1954 Roadmaster had a panoramic windshield and blunted tailfins.

Weighing in at over two tons, the Roadmaster was just under 217 inches long, with a 322 cu in Nailhead V8 engine. The four-door models had rear-seat arm rests!

Check out the dual bullet tail lamps, hood ornament, and the amazing tailpipe.
