October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM), dedicated to helping people and businesses learn how they can protect themselves and stay safe online.
With almost daily news of
- Hacked digital accounts
- People discovering their social media account information has been shared with third-party companies
- Targeted ads sent to phone numbers used for two-factor authentication
there’s no better time to learn how to protect yourself at home and at work against cyber threats.
As part of NCSAM, online and in-person safety events will be held throughout the United States in October to help people and businesses educate themselves on protecting their personal information, home, and businesses.
Free Online Cyber Security Events
Check your local community, library, or police department for in-person NCSAM events.
Sadly I didn’t find any in-person events in my community. And when I attended Coffee with a Cop this morning, our local Canton Township police department said they didn’t have anything planned.
