Memorial Day 2019: A Day of Remembrance

Memorial Day in the United States is a day of remembrance.

A day to pay tribute to the brave men and women in the armed services who gave their lives to protect our freedoms.

The day will be celebrated with parades, cemetery visits, and somber events as we reflect on those who sacrificed everything for our country.

Let’s honor their service today.

At 3pm local time today, all Americans are asked to join in a moment of silence for one minute for the National Moment of Remembrance.

Established in 2000, the National Moment of Remembrance will be observed by organizations throughout the country, including all Major League Baseball games who will halt play for one minute.

Amtrak train whistles will sound across the country and thousands of people will pause in memory of those people in the armed services who lost their lives in service to the United States.

We will never forget their sacrifice.
