If you haven’t logged into LinkedIn today, you’re missing out on some good laughs.
Along with Google and others, LinkedIn has a great April Fools’ Day prank with suggestions you connect with people like Robin Hood, Ernest Hemingway, and others.
Here’s what I saw this morning in the “People You May know” section when I logged into my LinkedIn account:
Refresh the page and LinkedIn suggested I connect with J.R.R. Tolkien:
Too bad I don’t know J.R.R. Tolkien’s email account.
I didn’t find those. That is great! I did find the Fools pranks from Hulu who had a homepage that loaded like it was from 1996. Complete with links to upload IE3 and Netscape 3. The front page also featured TV shows from that year too. YouTube had a new logo “YouTube Since 1911” if you clicked on it, all the videos you watched looked like an old black and white. Google’s Gmail Motion is a great edition in the long tradition of Google pranks.
Hey Travis,
Shoot! I missed the Hulu prank, but caught the YouTube April Fools’ joke. Loved watching the old videos. Did you catch the Google search for the word “Helvetica”? All the search results were displayed in Helvetica font.
No, I missed the Helvetica Google search. They usually have their primary prank (Gmail Motion, this year) and several subtle/hidden pranks). Google is the best at the corporate April Fool’s Prank. They are always the first one I check on April 1.
