Is Winter Over? My Spring Flowers Are Blooming

Unbelievable.

It’s 50 degrees in Michigan the first week of January.

And my first spring bulbs are blooming. Breaks all records of previous years for first spring blooms. Yes, these snowdrops are blooming in my front courtyard today.

Last year, my first spring bulbs bloomed in mid-February. How about you? Any spring flowers blooming in your yard?

  1. @Cedar_Waxwing: I was shocked to see them up. Checked my crocuses and other bulbs, but didn’t see any other buds popping through the soil. Would love to know if you find any in your area.

  2. I’m in Georgia and my March flowers are already coming up also. They usually show up the end of February beginning of March.

  3. @Chrissie – Wow. What’s your winter been like in Georgia? This winter has been so strange up here, with periods of warm weather hitting the 50s then down to the 20s. We average mid-20s most of the time in December and January.
