While this post is mostly a reminder to myself to not miss some my favorite holiday events, it’s also a post for folks in west metro Detroit who are looking for family-friendly holiday activities.
However you celebrate the end-of-year holidays, you might enjoy some of the activities, music, and outdoor fun happening before the end of 2025.

December 12-14, 2025: Christmas in Plymouth & Mistletoe Market in Plymouth, Michigan
Held in downtown Plymouth, the Christmas in Plymouth & Mistletoe Market offers horsedrawn carriage rides, live performances, vendors selling handcrafted items, storytime with Mrs. Claus, Kids Candy Cane Corner, train rides through the Walk of Trees, and the Light Tunnel.
Free event with hours on Friday, December 12 from 2PM to 9PM Eastern Time, Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 10AM to 8PM Eastern Time, and Sunday, December 14, 2025 from 11AM to 4PM Eastern Time.
Added bonus: free parking with a trolley shuttle that runs every 20 minutes.

December 13, 2025: Christmas Tinsel, Lights and Delights! in Canton, Michigan
Celebrate the season at Canton Concert Band’s annual Christmas concert, held at the Village Theater in Cherry Hill Village. I’ve attended the concert for several years and always enjoy it!
A special holiday visitor always makes a special appearance. Concert begins at 7PM; tickets are $12-$14 dollars.
Might make sense to get tickets early; it’s a popular event for families.

December 17, 2025: Detroit Symphony Orchestra Holiday Duet in Canton, Michigan
Enjoy Detroit Symphony Orchestra members violinist Jing Zhang and violist Mike Chen as they play holiday selections in the Canton Public Library Community Room from 7PM to 8PM Eastern Time.
The event is free, no registration required.
