Easy WP Guide Released for WordPress 6.0

Whether you’re creating your first WordPress site or have been using WordPress for years, you’ll want the latest version of a helpful resource I’ve been recommending since 2014.

The popular Easy WP Guide for WordPress by Anthony Hortin of Maddison Designs has been updated for WordPress 6.0.

Easy WP Guide is ideal for every user—blogger, content strategist, business owner, digital marketer, everyone—who adds or manages content on a WordPress website.

The guide has been updated with new screenshots for every block (due to changes in the Dashboard user interface).

You’ll also find descriptions and screenshots of new blocks introduced in version 6.0, including:

  • Avatar
  • Comments Query Loop
  • Post Author
  • Query Loop
  • Stack

The free downloadable guide (in PDF format) consists of 288 pages to help you learn about WordPress features and how to manage content on your site.

About Easy WP Guide

Created by Anthony Hortin of Maddison Designs, Easy WP Guide is an excellent guide to help you manage content on your WordPress site.

Without having to get into technical detail about how HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript work.

The guide is written in plain language for WordPress users.

It’s not intended for developers looking for a resource for developing or modifying themes or plugins.

Easy WP Guide is one of the few resources to provide information on how to use the Block Editor and Classic Editor.

Which is another reason why I recommend Easy WP Guide. I know many WordPress users prefer the editing interface of the Classic Editor over the Block Editor.

I met Hortin years ago through an online design group and I’ve stayed in touch with him. I’m impressed with his attention to detail in his guide.

And how he’s continued to publish such a high-quality resource over the years.

What Will You Find in Easy WP Guide?

A guide to understanding how you can use WordPress to add and update content, Easy WP Guide provides easy-to-understand explanations with annotated screenshots.

Hortin highlights key concepts as he skillfully discusses the details and steps for managing content in WordPress.

The guide is organized by main topics. You can jump to any feature from the Table of Contents.

Here are a few items in the Table of Contents:

  • Dashboard
  • Posts versus Pages
  • Adding your Site Content
    • Block Editor
    • Classic Editor
  • Media Library
  • Appearance
  • Plugins
  • Users
  • Settings
  • Keeping Your Site Updated

One of the features that stands our for me in the guide: how Hortin has organized the blocks in the Block Editor.

With over 60 available blocks, creating one long list can be overwhelming.

Hortin categorizes blocks by functionality:

  • Text Blocks
  • Media Blocks
  • Design Blocks
  • Widgets Blocks
  • Theme Blocks
  • Embeds
  • Reusable Blocks

For managing content on your site, Easy WP Guide is one of my top recommended learning resources for self-hosted WordPress sites.

Wrapping Up

For years, I’ve come to trust Easy WP Guide as my go-to WordPress guide to learn how to manage WordPress content. Especially when a new version with new features is released.

Yes, there are plenty of other resources online.

Like the familiar “What New in WordPress Latest Version” posts from major WordPress sites like Kinsta, WP Beginner, and iThemes.

But it’s rare for those sites to cover all the new features that affect WordPress users managing content.

For example, none of those sites’ what’s new in WordPress 6.0 posts discussed all the new blocks available in WordPress 6.0.

The only place I found that info was Easy WP Guide.

If you’re looking for a well-written, organized guide for managing and updating content on your WordPress site, Easy WP Guide is the resource for you!
