Easy WP Guide Released for WordPress 4.4

An early holiday present was released yesterday for WordPress users. Anthony Horton published his 4.4 version of the popular Easy WP Guide WordPress Manual.

The manual includes 138 pages to help you learn to update and manage your WordPress website.

The guide is ideal for users, content strategists, digital marketers, or anyone who adds content to a WordPress website.

Horton has made the manual available online in HTML format, which I love.

A PDF version (34MB) and paid mobile versions (MobiPocket and ePub formats) are also available.

What You’ll Find in Easy WP Guide

After a walkthrough of how to log in and a description of the Dashboard features, Horton takes you through the steps to learn how to edit and update content on your site.

Whether you’re looking for information on how to embed videos, audio playlists, or style your headings, Easy WP Guide has you covered.

He’s organized the guide into four main areas:

    1. Content
    2. Images & Media
    3. Appearance

Configuration

In addition, you’ll find information about the new features in WordPress 4.4.

Here’s a few of the topics from the table of contents:

  • Dashboard
  • Posts versus Pages
  • Adding your Site Content
  • Adding Images and Other Media
  • Deleting Content
  • Tags
  • Tools
  • Settings

Why I Like Easy WP Guide

One of the main reasons I like Easy WP Guide is that’s written in easy-to-understand language.

The organization of the guide follows the path a user would take when first working on a website.

Another reason I like the guide: the various formats it comes in: HTML, PDF, ePub, MobiPocket.

I’m a fan of HTML web pages for guides and not PDFs or other formats. Everyone on the web can use the guide without the need to download or install an application.

Three more reasons why I recommend Easy WP Guide:

  1. It’s free! Yes, it’s completely free to use.
  2. Multiple languages support. WordPress is used around the world. Great to have a guide that supports people who speak non-English languages.
  3. Brandable version. Available at low cost ($7 Australian dollars) and available in many languages. The brandable version can be distributed to 20 clients.

Note: the goal of Easy WP Guide is not to show you how to develop with WordPress or create WordPress themes. If that’s what you’re looking for, check out the WordPress Codex.

Conclusion

Whether you’re looking for a handy guide to learn how to edit content on your WordPress site, or need to train a client on how to use their recently launched site, Easy WP Guide is the perfect choice.
