Celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: Quotes to Live By

Today we commemorate the 92nd birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (MLK Day), a national day of service in the United States to honor the life and work of the civil rights leader.

My first memory of participating in a local MLK Day event dates back over 20 years ago, when I joined dozens of other Habitat for Humanity volunteers inside a warehouse on Detroit’s east side.

It was a cold wintry day outside.

I was glad we were working inside building interior walls for a new house for a Habitat homeowner which would be built later that spring.

This year, given the COVID pandemic, MLK Day service events and activities have moved online.

Hopefully next year, we can all participate in local in-person MLK Day events again.

In honor of MLK Day, I wanted to share some favorite Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. quotes in an infographic from JustFab.

If you prefer, you can read the text version.

I hope these quotes inspire you today and encourage you to reflect on how you can make his dream a reality: justice for all.
