If you’ve been wanting to share your thoughts, lessons learned, and experiences about your user experience work or projects, here’s your opportunity! Apply to speak at Ignite UX Michigan.
Now in its fourth year, Ignite UX Michigan returns to Ann Arbor, Michigan on March 15, 2016 for a free evening of five-minute user experience talks.
What is Ignite UX Michigan?
Presenters speak on a topic accompanied by 20 slides that automatically advance every 15 seconds.
The annual event features local:
- User experience and usability professionals
- Information architects
- Content strategists
- Interaction designers
- Accessibility professionals
- Project managers
- College students
speaking on any topic related to user experience.
I’ve attended for the past three years, and had a blast each year! Amazing talks and wonderful networking with fellow UX folks!
Last year I was more involved when I volunteered to help with social media support as well as sponsor outreach for video captioning.
From co-founder Mike Beasley:
We had our biggest crowd yet for the 2015 event and we’re looking forward to bringing you another great bunch of talks on UX topics.
Submit Your Talk
Ignite UX Michigan is open to talks from anyone interested in speaking on a user experience-related topic.
No need to be a professional speaker; Ignite UX Michigan is a great opportunity for you to give your first talk in a friendly, welcoming environment of your fellow UX colleagues.
Apply to speak with your topic, short description (limited to 140 characters) and your contact information.
While you’re munching on goodies during the end-of-year holiday break, or taking time out from making snowmen (we’re still hoping for a white Christmas in Michigan!), consider what topic you want to talk about at Ignite UX Michigan.
Speaker submission deadline is January 10, 2016.
Thanks to my friend Mike Wojan for allowing me to use his photo of Tracy Nagy’s talk from Ignite UX Michigan 2015.
